It is also critical that communication is enforced via proper project planning; especially for a critical "go-live" that is round the corner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is funny how organizations don't get it! Management teams work in silos and do not completely understand the true process keeping everybody in the loop; This is only one part of the problem. .&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;. . lately I have seen huge problems with problem definitions; mis-understanding the problem and attempting to solve a problem that was mis diagnosed! Too many words . . . .!!! I mean….KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!!!&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;A lot is said and done about work flow in a radiology department . . . a lot more said than done actually.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;I have noticed that vendors get so caught in the functionality of their product that they seldom pay any attention to the core requirements of a site. This is especially true for First time adopters of PACS – The original purpose of going “digital” is lost in the ambiguity of “functionality” provided by a new PACS system. \&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;My Top 5 must have’s for a successful PACS project&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ol style="margin-top: 0pt;" start="1" type="1"&gt;  &lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;A PACS ADMINISTRATOR with a solid      background in IT/IS&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:Arial;font-size:10;"  &gt;Eager Radiologists with active      involvement in defining their workspace&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt; ADMIN as the feature of flight would have been for the dodo ( . . .the extinct bird!!!). I guess, in all verbosity, i am trying to say. . . keep your ears shut, your skin oiled and your eyes open. . . for a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;PACS&lt;/span&gt; ADMIN cannot afford to get affected by a users emotions. There is a very thin line between observation and administration of a system. I have flirted with the idea for a while, but my natural instincts as &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;PACS&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Administrator&lt;/span&gt; ( critical thinking and analysis) have always told me that I was not "affected" enough to have my own rants and rave blog.
